"This is a generally excellent hotel. No more on that need be said. You won't be disappointed. Except that the breakfast tea is terrible. There is just one thing that we noticed on our last day. Breakfast is from 7am, our taxi was a 0730, a fairly typical departure time with either a flight or busy day scheduled. "One of few hotels with its almost private beach. Boutique but a little rough around the edges - so what if nothing is perfect - this isn’t Maldives. Great food, really friendly staff. "At the end of our Sri Lanka holiday we decided to spend a bit more on our Unawatuna hotel & were not disappointed. We had large rooms with loads of space, kitchen, really comfy beds, excellent views from our balconies. The staff were helpful & the pool lovely. We did book nicer rooms that some there & didn't eat so can't comment on the food. It's a bit of a walk or a short Tuk Tuk ride to the main tourist area or a beach but that also means it's quiet there."
