"A fantastic find for our needs. The owner was exceptionally helpful. Central to the city. Great value for money. We had a great room. However a few things to make it better : 1- the oven/microwave didn’t work even after trying a few times. It needs a master in engineering to make it work. Maybe stick with 2 separate items. 2- Not ideal for light sleepers. Can sadly hear a lot through the walls. 3- although the apartment was clean. I am not too sure the hoover was done. "We’ve stayed in the other property and that seemed to be abit more updated than this one. It advertised as having internet but as property is so remote and thick cottage stone we couldn’t get any internet. Also kitchen area may be needs some updating. All in all had a lovely time. "

"Liked privacy, quiet, clean, list of places to eat, Nigel was very helpful with our difficult overseas payment. Being from rural area it was difficult understanding security but destails were very good, just our lack of ability. I did get locked in bathroom at 3 a.m. as when I tried to get out as the lock fell out of the door handle. "Very comfortable and sooo much food, theres a weekly shop in the kitchen! Only down side was the no dogs upstairs rule. Some hygiene issues in the kitchen but nothing serious. Area is incredible, very scenic and beautiful. Also very quiet, you can hear a pin drop at night which is restful. The track to the farm is single track and rough in parts, one to note for anyone with a sports car. Glad I came in a 4x4."

"The property was as described and was clean and comfortable and in a good location. Check in was easy. However this is the only property I have EVER stayed in that didnt provide any tea coffee milk etc. Even budget hotels do this. It made the place seem unwelcoming and meant we hsd nothing to drink on arrival after a long journey. The same applies to the minute amount of hand soap provided. Also, a bin bag would have been useful. Parking was ok but was on the street and at a distance...fine...

"Had to wait a while for receptionist when checking in but it was 9pm. Room just as photo described. Very clean. Bed was a bit hard as others have stated. Room was freezing cold when first got there. Appreciate the heating isn’t put on but the temp was snowy and zero/minus so would have been nice to have been warm. Very easy to check in and check out. "

"Warm and professional welcome, with discounts offered for local businesses. Comfortable, in the central area, close to the theatres, restaurants and lots of bars. The building is exquisite, bathroom, was clean but a little dated. A very restful sleep and would highly recommend."

Wonderful stay

"We had a fabulous time at the palace hotel. The room was lovely and clean and it had a tremendous view of Buxton. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel,both were great, service and quality of the food. We will be back in June as we have booked tickets for a show at Buxton Opera House. I was unaware that the swimming pool has a charge of £6 and an extra £2 for a towel. This is not advertised anywhere on reception that I could seem"

"The location was ideal for our purposes. The staff were helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our meals(evening meal and breakfast). The only complaints we had were that we struggled to get the tempersture of our room right - the weather was very cold- and the lighting in the restaurant was rather subdued making it difficult to read the menu!"
