Hotel was convenient for Eden Gardens cricket ground a good 20 min walk away but flat, despite England getting spanked there by 7 wickets it was great experience all the same 😉 The hotel has great history with lots of pictorial items on display, the guests list who have resided there is very interesting. "When my taxi arrived at 3 AM and looked at the hotel exterior, I laughed. It was too funny. But once I got into the hotel and my room, I was cool with everything. Clean, comfortable albeit very small room and bathroom shower system in which the entire room is the shower! Something new for me but I learned quite typical in India. "I got sick the day I got on the overnight train to Kolkata so when I got to this hotel I needed some help, and the staff did a great job, getting medicine, bringing food, etc.. Understand that this is a very basic hotel and not to western standards, but it's right in central Kolkata for a good price. I can't complain."
