"The room was awesome, directly above the sidewalk for people watching and directly on the ocean, could feel the waves crashing, just wonderful. The views are great, the salt water pool with wave crashing in, the blow hole and black sand beach 750meters to the east were fun. Nice safe little village, great inexpensive restaurants, loved the scabbard fish and Sangria."

"We stayed last week and it was our first time in machico. Hotel is very comfortable, clean with good facilities. January is clearly a quiet month here and much of the hotel seemed under occupied. I asked for a room with a nice view. We were given a side sea one but noticed all the sea view rooms appeared unused? As an Expedia customer,I thought they could have gone the extra mile and upgraded us! Only other negative was the final bill didn't equate to the original price booked through...
