Stretching east from the sleepy village, Long Hai Beach is a stretch of pristine sand and is considered by many to be one of Vietnam’s finest beaches.
Enhance your tan on a hotel sun lounger, play in the safe, warm waters or stroll along the sand to find your own stretch of pristine beach. Near the village, watch the colourful fishing boats heading in and out of the harbour. You’ll find excellent food at the hotels lining the sand.
Many of the hotels rent sun loungers. Pick your spot and settle in for a relaxing day of reading, sleeping and sunbathing. You can order drinks and snacks from the resort bars, so if you don’t want to move too far, you don’t have to.
Cool off with a swim in the safe, clear waters and take a stroll in either direction to discover the rest of the beach. It’s wise to pay a small amount to have your possessions guarded while you are gone. Head west to arrive at Long Hai village, where you can watch colourful boats bobbing in the harbour and eat tasty local dishes at waterfront restaurants.
Back on the beach, many of the hotels offer evening menus. Enjoy a sunset cocktail while choosing from a range of tasty dishes.
The beauty of Long Hai Beach hasn’t escaped the local residents, many of whom travel from Vung Tau and farther afield on weekends to play in the warm waters and relax on the sand. If you want to experience the beach at its tranquil best, aim to visit during the week.
Stay at one of several luxurious resorts located close to the village if you would like to spend a bit more time enjoying beautiful Long Hai Beach. Otherwise find accommodation in Vung Tau, which is approximately 9 miles (15 kilometres) away and is best reached by taxi.
