"A night in a tent in a garden for £140 is a bit expensive specially for the quality of it. Floor uneven and cracked, and smelt a bit dump. Bathroom (in main house) is a bad design and water goes everywhere. We wanted to ask the owner questions, while they were in their private room, and as soon as we tried to get their attention, they went quiet and ignored us. They must have been able to hear me. I found it rude."

"Stayed for 2 nights. Had a lovely stay. Callum checked when we would arrive and greeted us at the door. Had a nice breakfast, which you pick the time and food you would like the night before. "This is a beautiful part of the country and particularly handy if you like watersports - loch is within 100 yards of the hotel. Hotel is clean and staff are friendly - lots of rooms some of which have incredible views up the loch towards Lochearnhead. Room was clean and well presented - decor is dated and basic. "I went at the end of season but car park with the hostel was available and easy access. Room was en-suite which I wasn't expecting for a hostel but made the stay so much easier and hospitable. a large group staying there at same time but no noise from them, made an enjoyable stay"

"I really enjoyed my stay at Lovat House - the room and bathroom was very spacious, the bed SO comfortable and the host, Joe, was a delight!!! It’s easy to find and in a great location and I had no trouble parking. If I return to Crieff, I will be going back and I thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay in Crieff."

"Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Even on a really busy evening when fully booked in Thier restaurant they brought food to my room off Thier restaurant menu and it was the best food I had eaten in Crieff including eating at crieff hydro and a few local restaurants. The room was lovely and had a small kitchenette more than adequate. A really lovely stay. Highly recommend."

"Had yet another lovely stay. We have stayed here quite a few times now and we are never disappointed. Staff were lovely, friendly and extremely accommodating. Bed was really comfortable so had a great nights sleep. Rooms were warm and cozy too. Breakfast was ok but I feel it is very limited as I would have preferred maybe that other options to pick from were able that’s my only issue. What's not to love?

"My partner and I needed a place to stay on our way up north, and since he grew up near the Hydro, we decided to give it a go. What a good shout! From DoubleTree's classic, warm cookies to the spaciousness of the room, we felt at home and comfortable. The Hydro also oozes Victorian charm and boasts stunning views of the surrounding area. What's not to love? It's actually a shame we didn't stay longer. We're keen to return, especially to try The Kailyard by Nick Nairn. My only issue is that the room door allowed a lot of noise through which was a slight disturbance."

"Hotels.com had bit transferred my payment to the hotel so initially we were not allowed to access our room. Thanks to very helpful manager Matt we who sorted the muddle we were able to get to our room. All fine in the room and friendly welcome."

"Gorgeous grounds and surrounding area. Really peaceful and well placed for scenery. Good on sight playing for children and lovely even if you don’t leave the grounds. The apartments are super spacious and love the indoor sauna and hot tub. A little cold and old fashioned but adds charm. Absolutely love coming here with my family for a little break from the city. Hoping to get a chance to visit in the summer because otherwise it’s consistently foggy and damp being right opposite the loch. This, however, is charming and atmospheric if you like that kind of thing. "
