"Hotel was okay. In need of fefurbishment but was clean and had everything we required. Food in the Bistro was very nice, service was okay but slow migth have been due to wedding on in hotel. Room was okay again getting a bit tired and in need of a refresh. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy with everything needed. One main complaint was a lot of mould on bathroom ceiling, due to inactive fan. Breakfast each morning was good and pleantyful with attentive service."

"The manager/owner was very friendly and walked us through the whole place and its facilities. Has ample space to cook food and relax and even do your laundry. Seems well suited for "backpacking through scotland" type trips and also longer stays. Also has a box of kids toys in the lounge which occupied my boy for a good while."

"The location is absolutely stunning, the welcome is warm and the house cat is gorgeous - and Queen of this particular castle. The hotel is beautiful but also quirky. "Staff were excellent, and very hospitable. The food at their restaurant/cafe was simply superb. The room was decent, pretty much as advertised. A couple of minor issues about the facilities were brought to the owners' attention, but otherwise, the stay was a very pleasant experience. Thank you!"

"We were in the riverside lodge and although the lodge was lovely it lacked privacy as the hot tub and decking area was fully visible to people walking past from the nearby bridge, passersby could see right in to the accommodation. The lodge probably wasn’t worth the total amount of money we spent but it is a beautiful setting.
