We were called and told that we could check in early the day before arrival, but on arrival we were told that it was a busy night and the room wasn’t ready. "The Richmond used to be a great property but feels neglected of late. Room given initially was so smelly, asked the manager and to his credit changed the room to something more pleasant. Overall, the cleanliness is not great, lots of visible damage to the hotel, but only stayed for one night so made do. Have stayed before an the hotel does have a nice wing which is newer but rest of it was poor and it's the second time I've needed a room change. "

Were unable to find the hotel parking but we just used the NCP one which is located across the road however that was more than the hotel one so would be helpful if the carpark was advertised a bit more! "This hotel is like the Tardis- looks tiny from the inside but is actually substantial. Room had lots of amenities- hairdryer, iron, safe, tea/coffee. But if you like an early night this is the wrong part of town as even though it was a Sunday there was music blaring til 2300 and then a huge amount of noise at 7am when the refuse collectors took the bottles from the bins! Not the hotel's fault, obviously, but be warned. Staff very friendly, location is a short walk from everywhere you might need...
