One minor complaint- people smoking at the bar made it unappealing to americans not used to that anymore. That is more a criticism of thailand than the beluga hotel, however. If we return to koh samui we'd love to stay there again. "

"Island paradise. A little far from the busy island center but the smaller, food centric night market is right next door. Attention to detail in the facilities is incredible. Happy hour is a busy time to meet and mingle with fellow travelers, but once it’s over the resort is silent and peaceful at night. Somehow the resort managed to keep the jet skis out of direct line of sight on the beautiful beach so even as beach traffic increases, the serenity is maintained. The bar next door has a free fire show on the beach at night, just need to buy a drink to sit. I booked the private plunge pool suite. Worth the upgrade. Maintenance and house keeping snuck in to check and maintain the pool daily. I did not do breakfast every day at the resort but the day I did I was impressed. However make sure you check out the French bakery up the street for people watching and a ham and cheese croissant. Rooms have a fridge but no mini bar. 7-11 is a 4 minute walk to stock up on your own cheap snacks, drinks and sunscreen. This is a quite part of the island, family friendly, but still some crazy bars in walking distance without invading the privacy. Can’t say enough about this resort. Felt like home. "
