Staff were very welcoming. Property is in a great place in Chaweng- on beach and close to Main Street. The service was good but hotel is a little dated and could do with newer towels and sun loungers. Shower was a bit old fashioned but ok. Breakfast was ok. The hotel landscaping is really pretty but the best thing about the hotel is the attentiveness of the staff who really want to help

the hotel was spotlessly clean. the staff were so helpful you only had to ask and they delivered, close to all shops and entertainment and restaurant - perfect location as you were not in the middle of the busy bustling road but towards to the end but still in the mist of everything. so it was nice and quiet to go to sleep. fantastic holiday loved it.

We were very pleased with our stay at Dara Samui. It is clean, the breakfast is incredible and ample, and the staff is second to none. Chaweng Beach (the street area) wasn’t my taste, but there are a lot of restaurants and bars. It’s great, it’s just not my speed. That said, when you get to the beach at Dara Samui, you can’t hear the noise of the street at all. What made the experience so fantastic was the staff. High praise to them!!

Exceptional room. Exceptional breakfast. Exceptional and lovely staff. Ideal central Chaweng location, and on the beach. Only downside for me was that the pool beach bar area was a bit too congested, too crowded - the tide was often unusually high during my stay so they could not have sunbeds on the beach as I think they usually would, so this restricted the space available. I would like to think I’ll be able to stay again.

What I liked about the Dara was the location and location. Enjoyed seeing all these different things. The staff included all the services were very excellent! The room smelled slightly damp because it had been raining all week long I believed. But overall it was pretty nice!

The hotel itself is absolutely fine. The room was clean, the bathroom was large and clean with all the standard amenities. Two complimentary water bottles per day and a mini fridge (with fee for items). The included breakfast buffet is large with good variety. Every staff I encountered was helpful and friendly. Really wonderful people. However, there isn't really a beach there. Technically speaking, it is waterfront, with a small strip of sand when the tide is low. I wouldn't call that a beach, there are actual beaches on the island. Also, the area on the street surrounding the hotel is peak Chewang, loud, noisy, dirty sidewalks and rude shirtless tourists walking around. If you want to be in the middle of bars, restaurants and massage parlors, then this location would be excellent. If you want beach, peace and tranquility, then this place isn't for you.

The architecture of the building is traditional Thai and very beautiful. Service is very good and the staff very friendly. Due to wonderful water ponds around the building where also a lot of Koi fishes are living, a lot of mosquitos are around, its beautfiul but very annoying.

Run away! Sure the rooms are beautiful and the breakfast fabulous but not only is the beach tiny and public, the sunset barely visible (while this can be the case in Chaweng and for much less money) but above all the staff is simply awful and this in general is not at all the image of Thailand. You can find so much better for so much less money...

The staff were absolutely fantastic, as with Thai people nothing was to much trouble and everything was undertaken with a lovely smile. The building was true early Thai architecture and made our stay that much more special. We highly recommend Dara Samui resort to all keeping in mind the adults only theme, we have grandkid's and love them to bits but some "our time" was great. We will be back
