Unfortunately, Casa Velasco didn’t live up to our expectations. The photos online were a bit deceiving — the room we initially received was small, gray, and felt quite dark for a beach destination. There were barely any windows, and the space felt more depressing than relaxing. My husband immediately noticed a moldy smell, which we brought up to the staff.
To their credit, the staff was very attentive and tried to help. They upgraded us to a suite for two nights as a temporary solution, which we appreciated. However, we ultimately chose to cut our stay short and move to another hotel.
There’s no front desk, and not much in terms of amenities or nearby activities. While the surrounding area is nice, the property itself just didn’t offer the beachy vibe or value we were hoping for. That said, the staff did their best within the limitations of the property.
If you’re looking for a true beach getaway with comfort and atmosphere, we’d recommend exploring other nearby hotels that offer better value and a more complete experience.
