"We had such a pleasant stay at this property. It was so calm and serene. With a stunning view of the fort. There's a small safe area to swim in the ocean as the rest of the sea is quite dangerous. "Best place I stayed at during my trip. The only thing I might suggest is to add thin privacy curtains to rooms that look out onto the pool (rather than having to pull across the heavier curtains and blocking out the natural daylight. Other than that just about 10/10"

"The rooms are lovely in this little boutique hotel, it is located at the top of Gaul fort and easy to park and find. The staff are very good and helpful. They make good coffee. Room was run down..biggest issue was that neither of the two showers drained properly. In fact, sewage came up and created an offensive odor. "Good: The beach. The pool. The variety of dining options. The hotel though in several areas like the rooms, lifts etc could be cleaner / better maintained. The AC struggled to lower the room temp below 24C. The light in the cupboard where the safe is located would not switch off. Flushing the toilet resulted in it running for over 5 minutes. The grout on the shower enclosures could do with the occasional clean with bleach…. Not what I expected of a hotel with such high daily charges."

"This hotel is a bit run down, it feels pretty basic and needs renovations (very poor flooring). Location is not great, both for distance to the real point of interest, which is Galle's fort, and for being in front of a busy road which is very noisy although at night we slept well (ie no or little traffic at night). It can also be difficult to find taxis at that location unless you use tuk tuks which seem to have a bizarre monopoly in the area. Staff was very helpful though. "
