"Moldy bed sheet, dirty light switches, broken bed net. Smelly bar area. When I reported the above issues, 3 groups of staff came and decided to offer me a bottle of free beer ( wine). I don’t drink beer ( wine). Then the manager knocked my room door twice to force me to accept it. I paid $NZ 1100 per room per night. This is the worst 5 star hotel I have ever experienced."

The staff were accomadating due to late check in and kindly agreed for Dad to check out late and have lunch the next day which was a nice gesture. Will recommend the lodge. "Getting to the property was tough, very tough but so worth it. I was lucky enough to go outside of the wet season but it was still hard. The facility itself is beautiful and the food is delicious. The staff is beyond kind and helpful. The shower though, it hardly worked and water went everywhere. We really enjoyed our meals at Tawi Lodge, which were of a very high quality. We did think some of the portion sizes for dinner were way too big and hence maybe clients should be offered a sharing portion to avoid wastage?
