Skálakot Manor hotel

4.0 star property
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (102)
"We have a lovely one night stay at Skalakot. It’s very charming, simple hotel in beautiful surroundings. The bed was comfy and the shower was good. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The spa was small but nice, gets quite cramped if there are more than 4 people in there. I think it would benefit from an outdoor hot tub. Dinner was nice, breakfast was ok. "

Seljalandsfoss Horizons

3.0 star property
9.8 out of 10, Exceptional, (62)
"Beautiful cozy cottages, modern amenities, close driving distance to waterfalls. Isolated, low light pollution great for stargazing and northern lights. The loft cottages have upper loft floor with sky window, very cool. For a couple with or without small child is enough space. Communication with access instructions was easy. People have complained about inflexible cancellation policy, but these are family-run cottages, not a big hotel, so they depend on the income and last minute cancellations...

Sleeping with the Horses

3.0 star property
9.6 out of 10, Exceptional, (23)
"We loved our stay BUT the marketing photos and name of the hotel are very deceptive. You DO NOT get the horses coming to your cabin, there is a fence (electric) at least 20ft or more away from the cabins and the horses don’t come near you, you can see them afar from your cabin only. You can see Icelandic horses alllll over Iceland so this isn’t really a special experience. The cabins are wonderful and so is the overall location but you will be disappointed if you are going to want to do what...

Jakob's old Farmhouse

3.0 star property
10.0 out of 10, Exceptional, (3)
"By far the most beautiful private space we stayed in while in Iceland. It is very secluded, quiet and the unassuming exterior conceals an interior that will take your breath away. The price seemed a bit high when we booked it, but after experiencing it first hand I feel it was worth every krona and then some. I would love to have stayed a few days so I could really soak in the farm and become even better friends with the resident ponies! It was everything I was hoping it would be! "

Hotel Hvolsvöllur

3.0 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (363)
"We stayed on our last night in Iceland. The rooms are albeit old fashioned, for a 1 night stay, it's decent. There's a restaurant and the breakfast was nice. This is very close to all the great falls around that area and you can see northern lights right above the hotel. We saw northern lights in Vik and here on the second day. It was beautiful and they also have places you can scan and go to watch the Aurora. 2 hours from the international airport. "
