"The rains definitely started to fall two days into our 3 day visit to Hilo and we desired to move from our relatively off-grid Hipcamp (which we loved!) into an actual hotel room with amenities. "This is an old property that is a great retreat in spite of it's foibles. Three years ago when I stayed he my concern was the safety of the neighborhood. There has been a remarkable change for the better. For the price you can't beat it. The staff is wonderful. "

"Lovely restored home. Very nice owner and sweet (I believe Japanese) lady prepared and cooked our breakfast. Lots of snacks and refreshments. We were allowed to use an area in the fridge. No amenities in room but, everything we would want or need was just outside our door. Would love to stay again!"

"I in the place where I don’t feel like I am a tourist but living among locals yes it not what many hotels will offer but you are one with the natural and the real beauty of Hawaii, taking a shower in the open bathroom is the best thing I experienced and yes it has a privacy and comfort of of taking a bath with out worrying anything just enjoy the view of Hawaii 360 degrees "

"SCP Hilo has the absolute best service and amenities, including free bike and paddle board usage as available. They also have an incredible pool, a wonderful garden, and a very unique and serene coy fish pond. SCP is also located within walking distance of many wonderful places to visit, such as Coconut Island and Liliʻuokalani Gardens. There are also a lot of fantastic food venues in walking distance, but you will likely find yourself returning to the Coconut Grill more often than not. The Vietnamese restaurant, New Saigon, located nearby is also fantastic. Lastly, there are a few bus stops in short walking distance, and since the buses are free, why rent a car at all? My wife and I had a fantastic late honeymoon here, and I can't recommend them enough! Book a stay at SCP and see what we mean! Aloha!"
