The room was exactly what I needed with privacy, amenities & everything I needed for my stay - Laura & Garcia took care of every need! The bed was a sleep number & the grounds were full of yummy fruit trees - best squeezed OJ ever & added sweetness with the property pup Jake, horse & a cpl of donkeys - can’t forget the gecko - she likes compliments on her beauty! The views of the ocean were gorgeous & close proximity to all the things Hilo! HI was sooo much more than I expected! Mahalo!

The room was good and clean. As it is a bed and breakfast there was no real "staff" but the family who ran it was very professional and kind. Amenities were also good. The only complaints can be listed as followed: subpar internet and lack of centralized air that could combat the humidity in the room/s.

We stayed five days here on our first trip to Big Island and fell in love with Hilo, a huge part of that was this gorgeous property full of lovely animals and livestock, fruit trees, and the kindest most responsive hosts. We even made friends with a lovely couple, also guests at this property who return here year after year (we can see why). It is conveniently located to reach Hilo downtown as well as to see waterfalls, lava caves, beaches, and the volcano. It is private, safe, quiet and really well-maintained. It is also extremely spacious, clean beautifully decorated. It had the most room of all the places we stayed on this trip to Oahu and Big Island. Bravo to Garvin and Laura Goode. You guys are amazing!

It was such a beautiful place to stay with such a great host! The pool and the whirlpool were amazing and the garden with all the super delicious fruits we were able to eat was just amazing! The hosts are super friendly and everything was just perfect.

“The area is nice and clean, and you can hear the soothing sounds of nature all night, including the gentle rustling of leaves, the distant calls of frogs, and the soft chirping of crickets. However, once you close the windows and doors, it’s no problem.

Island Goode’s was excellent for us:)). Lovely grounds, good view, nice accommodating hosts, clean comfortable room(Hilo bay room). Bed is sleep number-very nice:) Breakfast is not included when booked through site other than their own but coffee can be made in room. Island is tropical and you will have beautiful bird and frog sounds day and nite. Bring earplugs if sensitive! Close to Hilo waterfalls and other Activities. NO children but we knew that. PLEASE read the small print and communicate with Garvin and Laura. Thanks Garvin and Laura for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise

We were only at Island Goode's three nights and really there only in the evening/late evening. But even in those short times, we felt so relaxed in the beautiful setting, the dark night sky to see the stars, and seeing some of the sunrise over the ocean from the front lawn. Bonus - fruit trees with oranges and tangerines and lemons in the yard we could have and enjoy. And our hosts were so friendly and helpful - with practical things and having laundry available, and snorkel gear and chairs to borrow. We are extremely thankful we stayed at Island Goode's and would recommend them to anyone, even the traveller who uses the "hotel" just a launching pad for the next day's adventure.
