Housed within the vast Katara Art Village, it is a huge gallery space where artists show off a range of approaches to art and design, from the contemporary to the unconventional. The gallery space covers a staggering 10,000 square feet (1,000 square meters) of space. You’ll find a huge variety in the exhibitions held here. When you have exhausted the exhibitions in the gallery, spend the rest of the day exploring the Katara Cultural Village, where you’ll find quaint alleys filled with artists’ shops, a Greco-Roman amphitheater, the Arab Postal Stamp Museum and numerous cozy cafés. With access to a lovely sandy beach, it is easy to relax here for an entire day or more.
The Katara Art Gallery is located on the northeastern side of the Katara Amphitheater in the Katara Cultural Village. Travel here in 20 minutes from the city center by taxi. The gallery is open daily, with shorter hours on Fridays. Be sure to ask for times and dates of specific exhibitions.
