"We had booked three rooms. Our room nothing worked. It was a very cold night and walking up the stairs to the room you could feel it blowing a gale. There was a radiator in the room that was luke warm with the valve fully opened. There were another three plug in heaters around the room, none of which worked and an electric towel rail which was switched on but no heat, the bathroom was freezing. I asked who I believe to be the manager if he could check the fuse and try and get heaters working....

"Never been to Watford (from US) but took a chance. Turned out to be an amazing place. Cool old UK pub and above, modern chic rooms. Ann Maria was the bartender and hotel host and she was outstanding and a hoot. She treated us like family from the moment she met us. Sean the manager treated us the exact same way. 40th Birthday /mother & daughter escape

"Out if this works for mother & daughter 40th birthday short escape; We took the junior suite option in the mansion house for its very modern take on retro aristocratic old-money England as we wanted to also relive family connections with that era. It so suited the Elgar we listened to in the room as we quaffed excellent champagne. So Downton Abbey & Brideshead Revisted . Just what we needed & more than we hoped for. The super king sized beds & superior cotton sheets were a decided part of the luxury"
