"Really lovely ryokan and onsen with beautiful ocean views. The futons were very comfortable, as well. It's a little outside of Wakayama city (about 30 minutes/¥3500 by taxi), but there is a nearby bus and they have a parking area if you are driving. The staff speaks a little English, but don't expect the same level of English that you might get at a larger, urban hotel. Overall, it was very relaxing and I would definitely recommend it."

"This hotel was in a noisy area, but it had the most comfortable bed I've slept in in a hotel. Just bring some earplugs and you'll be fine. It was also really clean inside the rooms and was very nice for the price I paid. I never saw any staff members, even when I tried to call them on the registration device for help. So being self-sufficient would be a good idea."

"We enjoyed our stay at the Comfort Hotel is close to the train station and bus transport. Handy to the supermarket on street level of the Hospital Building and the meals we bought can be heated on the 2nd floor microwave. "Amazing hotel with an even better view. I had a superb view of Wakayama’s castle straight from my hotel room. Of course the staff were nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The location is brilliant although it is about a 15-20 minute walk to one of the two close by train stations. I would strongly recommend this hotel for the view! "
