The property was beautiful, and the staff was friendly. Food was good. A very relaxing place to stay.super clean. The only few draw backs was with the elevator was broken a couple days. I had a bad knee, did not like climbing the stairs. Overall, very pleasant vacation.

Oh Isla how we love you soo much! Being on this beautiful, chill island coupled with staying at an incredible resort on playa Norte is fabulous. This is the 2nd time staying at Aluxes and it did not disappoint. We love the small, boutique feel and having the option of doing breakfast only is so perfect. The breakfast buffet is excellent as well as breakfast on the beach. We would get cappuccino every morning at the beach bar, take a stroll on the beach then head to breakfast. During the day, we would split between pool and beach at end of day…you can’t miss those incredible sunsets on playa Norte! It is so fun to head out every night and be able to walk to the many restaurants that Isla has to offer and also the street vendors are the best. Tacos, burritos, churros… all delish! We did chose to do one all inclusive day and it is so worth it for the $$. The cocktails are made well, not watered down and in real glasses! We have been to many all inclusive resorts where the drinks are terrible. The food served, especially the ceviche, at the beach restaurant is sooo good, I would order it every day if I was doing full all inclusive. We rented a golf cart from the hotel which is super easy and just perfect to have one day to get out and explore the island. Our room was a city view, overlooking the cemetery which we thought was soo cool and the best part was we did have a small ocean view to the east and north of us that we did not expect!

I did not like the fact that I was made to purchase water if I wanted it. I think bottled water should be available for guests at no cost. When I asked for it I was told I had to buy it.

The property was wonderful. Staff was always pleasant and helpful. The only issues I had was the smell of sewer gas was often present between the pool and Sabor, and we had a few days were we needed maintenance to adjust the shower so we had hot water. Other than that the food was EXCELLENT and the facilities were amazing. Isla Mujeres is a wonderful place just 20 minutes on a ferry from Cancun. I would recommend the island and Privilege Aluxes to anyone!

Absolutely amazing location on a great beach and walking distance to a bunch of great bars, restaurants and shopping. Hotel is showing some age and things break regularly, some days with little hot water or elevators out of service but nothing too bad. Staff is largely nice and attentive but even when you booking all inclusive you have to sign for everything and they are not always great about getting you the ticket in a timely matter and several days at breakfast it was hard to get someone to refill coffee. None of that was big deal but there is one thing that was a big deal. The walkway between the spa and gym leading to the pool deck there is an unmarked step that we witnessed at least half of the guests trip over, At least it should be painted safety yellow and probably should be a ramp. Overall the property, staff and location are amazing and wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Privilege resort has private beach area that is set back from the crowds of people on the public beach. Easy walk to town and menu strip with restaurants and bars. This was our second stay at Priveleges. We ended up with unit 616 which is a Deluxe Ocean view suite. This unit was at the beach end of the property and had an amazing deck and view. The pool decking has been upgraded to a composite material since our last visit which was a nice addition. The staff and food were excellent. Having breakfast and dinner at Playa Norte Beach Club, was fantastic. The loungers and palapas on the beach were relaxing and enjoyable. I would suggest booking garden or ocean view rooms at this property, as the other categories may put you on the street or graveyard side of the property. The location is great with walking distance to the beach, restaurants, shops and bars, plus many street food options. The ferry terminal is walkable, but it is only 100 pesos or so to take a taxi. I would rate this as an excellent place to stay.

The property was conveniently located. It was clean. The staff was primarily Spanish speaking only. They served margarine and I was unable to get butter. I haven't eaten margarine in 30 years. No 5 star resort should even cook with margarine. The food basically had no taste. The sandwiches and fries were ok. You had to use cards for beach or pool towels. A 5-star resort should have towels on chairs or available as often and as many as you need. For the price we paid, I can't believe they were so worried about steeling a few towels. The towels were not great quality, so I wouldn't want one anyway. They are understaffed horribly. One poor waiter was doing the entire beach area and one bartender. In my experience at other resorts, we had a bucket with ice and beer and drinks refreshed continuously. They would only put one beer in the refrigerator at a time. So we had to call room service or walk to the bar across the street to get another. Room service took about 30 mins. In comparison to other resorts I have stayed at in Mexico, I would give this one 3 starts at the most.
