This hotel seems to be very new and is immaculately maintained. The rooms are small by American standards, but reasonably large for Japan. The decor is nice, with little touches like art hanging in the hallways.
The hotel is well-situated for access by car, being right on a major highway, and with a large parking lot. Access from the nearest train station is a walk of about a mile through a residential area.
There are a couple of convenience stores and restaurants nearby. Other typical places to visit in Ishinomaki are either a long walk or would need a car.
Breakfast was nice, with a large variety of mostly Japanese fare. The food was hot and fresh and plentiful.
The hotel also includes a faux onsen (set up like a regular onsen in a Japanese hotel, but using municipal water rather than a natural hot spring). It was nice and clean and not crowded.
It was a very nice place to stay. I would definitely use this hotel again, and will give preference to selecting Route Inn in other locations as well.
