"We stayed in a ground-floor flat/room. Own entrance Immaculate and in good condition. Fridge, kettle to make your own brew, comfortable bed and good wifi. Very comprehensive breakfast. Even in April, my wife ventured into the pool for a refreshing swim. Plenty of places to eat within safe walking distance. Lovely and quiet. Certainly return when we visit friends again"

"The unit was well furnished and modern, the built-in stuff were great, but the pots, pans and fan wasn't so great. It was fully usable but it had broken handles etc. The management was also very strict, we asked for an additional set of keys and they were initially reluctant to provide one and after that quoted us first R1000, then R500 deposit. It just felt like it was overly strict, rigid and lacking a bit of that human touch which Jo'burg is famous for. Overall still a great place to stay...

"I think it's important to know this is someone's house with a few hotel rooms upstairs. There are some less-than-ideal aspects. The place is very echoey, so if the owners are entertaining downstairs you will hear it in your room. The lighting is very harsh, bright white, which is a big no for me personally. "Southern Sun Rosebank is in a convenient location, close to the city and just around the corner from Rosebank Mall. The staff advised against walking for security reasons, but it’s easy to get around with Uber or the hotel’s shuttle service to the mall. There is plenty of parking on-site, and the parking price is affordable. I really enjoyed the buffet breakfast, and the food at The Grill restaurant was also very good. Overall, I had a good stay and it’s a hotel I would recommend."
