"Waterland is a small resort of around 5 individual villas on the banks of a river. We stayed in Elephant villa which has a small, private pool and decking area. We loved the indoor/ outdoor bathroom with fish! The area is quiet and great for just sitting and watching the wildlife. Food is eaten in a small restaurant and although choice is limited, the quality was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. Slight downsides... The resort is really tucked away ,so be sure your taxi driver knows...

"I very spontanously went to Jetwing Ayurveda Pavillions over Christmas 2022 on my own. Just needed some time for myself. Hotel is nicely located in a green garden, small but beautiful pool. Staff is lovely. It's NOT a beach resort, keep this in mind but you can walk like 5min and use Jetwing Blue and Jetwing Beach's pools and beach as well as they are of the same brand. "I arrived at the hotel at around 5 am and the owner kindly let me check in at that time (I had paid for the previous night) so didn't have to hang out at the airport forever after an extremely long trip to Sri Lanka which I had read was an issue at other hotels.
