Inspect intriguing art collections and tractors in museums, go fly fishing on a picturesque lake and learn about the philosophy behind Hard Work U.

Hollister is a small city outside Branson that flanks the scenic Cooper Creek. It is known for its range of Christian-related attractions, mainly found at the fascinating College of the Ozarks, also known as Hard Work U. Get a sense of the work ethic and religious ideals that prop up the culture of this intriguing town.

Wander around the college campus on Point Lookout and enjoy the views of the creek. The university is famous across the country for its policy that discourages loans, preferring that students work at the university as a means to pay their tuition fees.

Visit the Ralph Foster Museum on the college campus for an eclectic range of collections from the region. Among the highlights are a gun collection and a set of dolls. Enter the nearby Gaetz Tractor Museum to see a range of restored farming vehicles and machines. Inspect some of its bizarre artifacts, such as a shrunken head and a two-headed calf.

The historic center of Hollister has many antique stores as well as shopping complexes. Relax at a quaint café to break up your day of sightseeing. Go fly fishing on Lake Taneycomo for rainbow and brown trout. Climb up tree-laden hills for the best views of the town and the water.

Expect snow to decorate the ground in winter, creating a charming and serene atmosphere. Summers are warm and sunny, leading to ideal walking conditions. Make your way west to scenic Table Rock Lake and dine at the Showboat Branson Belle. Visit Moonshine Beach Park and appreciate the glorious vista.

Stay at the charming Ye Olde English Inn, a historic structure that dates back to the early 1900s. Admire the Elizabethan décor and furnishings of its rooms.

Find the town in Taney County in the southwestern corner of Missouri. Fly to M. Graham Clark Downtown Airport in the southern outskirts of Branson and get around Hollister by car.

Hollister has stunning scenery, proud traditions and a thriving college.
