"Great hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Room is spacious. Parking lot right next to hotel building. Walking distance to Hakodate Morning Market. Highly recommended!"
"Overall property condition is pretty new and very clean, bathroom is a bit small but setup very creatively to maximize space utilization. Location is close to tram tracks, so can be a bit noisy. Room has a washer only, no dryer, limited hangers to dry clothes maybe provide a foldable drying rack so that guests can put it out on the balcony in the summer or in the room as the room is pretty spacious (we have kids so we have more clothes to wash) "
"This house is a bit hard to find on Google maps, and sits exactly along the shores next to other beach properties. It's is best to Google 小浜理容店 barber shop (179, 179 Nesakicho, Hakodate, Hokkaido 042-0924, Japan) next door because the address given on the website doesn't register with the taxi services.
The view is breathtaking and the back side of the house gives a panoramic view of the water through windows that run all along the back of the house. But the small beach is not accessible or...
"This two-story home is so beautiful! It’s decorated in a modern, minimalist, somewhat Scandinavian style. I originally booked this place because I fell in love with the bathtub picture and thought that the extra space would be nice. Once I entered the place, I was blown away by the little details like the comfortable bed and bedding, how soft the towels were, and how nice it was to listen to the record player and even just gazing at the ceiling beams. (I felt transported to another place simply...

"This hotel has everything you need—delicious food options nearby (breakfast voucher for the morning market right outside provides delicious options for uni and scallop), walking distance to the shops in Kanemori, and the train station’s nearby. My favorite was the view from the lounge on the 17th floor. My room itself was spacious, had a washing machine (which I didn’t get a chance to use), deep/soaking tub, and a nice view as well. The hot springs on the 18th floor was a nice amenity. I’d stay here again, 100%."
Hakodate Yunokawa Onsen Umi to Akari / Hewitt Resort
10/10 Excellent
"The rooftop onsen is so great at this hotel—there’s an infinity pool edge where you can look out into the horizon and sky that is so beautiful to see (there’s a section outside where you can lie down in the water; they also provide women towels to shield against the wind). I would come back to this hotel for this experience alone! The food was pretty good too—stand-outs include the scallop, amaebi, kanpachi, and the crab legs! As for my room, I splurged on the junior suite because of the tub—while soaking, you can look out the window and watch the clouds go by, a wonderful feeling. Lastly, the staff offered a welcome gift of dango—probably the best I’ve ever had. "
"I liked pretty much everything about the place. It had a balcony and had ready access to most parts of Hakodate.
The main improvement I would suggest is some form of anti-slip mat in the shower room. "
"Second time I stayed here (last year it was Flexstay Inn). The only issues were this spikey metal coil I found in the carpet and removed myself (not too bad), and the toilet seat dipped down on the left side when you sit down. Otherwise a perfect stay. Thank you!"
"Staying inside of a renovated bank building in the old downtown with a cool vibe and super high ceilings was fantastic. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was also great with good water pressure and hot water. The staff was super friendly and helpful - plus the hotel has bikes on site for rental which a great way to explore the area. You can also ride the streetcar to get from here to the 5-star bastion fortress park and other areas. The red brick warehouse tourist / shopping area is just a block away. The ropeway to get a view from the nearby mountain, and many interesting churches are also within easy walking distance. Highly recommended. Although the hotel shows a bit of minor scuffs in the rooms, it just provides character to an otherwise great choice."
