"Lovely hotel. Had some lovely touches in the rooms with a homely vibe. Right in the centre of the beautiful village of Helmsley. Lovely picturesque place with some lovely shops. Very friendly and inviting village. Would definitely visit village and hotel again. Expedia apparently messed up booking and we were given a double room instead of a twin. The hotel were not able to accommodate what we had booked, but was grateful of the single room offered, but did put a damper on the break. Just be wary when booking through Expedia, as hotel tells me this has happened before and check with hotel once booked. "

"Would highly recommend mecure hotel wether your on a business trip or staying there as a single person or as a couple lovely and friendly staff lovely food service very good obliging in every way and only twenty minutes or so from the centre of york .if you don’t drive buses every half hour or so"
