Beautiful setting for a very funky, tired and minimally equipped accommodation. A step above a tent cabin. Dirty windows, paper cups, no hair dryer, no coffee maker in the room, no ice (ice machine was broken?). Breakfast buffet was very sparse, bread but no toaster.
Staff was pleasant, bed was comfortable but will not return.
We did a last minute reservation while driving along the Norwegian coast, and were lucky to find this great lodge. Even though we arrived late at night, the lady owner was waiting for us, and even upgraded our room for a larger one with a nice view of the water and fjord. The lodge is located on a somewhat secluded area away from heavy traffic, with its own little fjord beach. Its a great place to sit back and relax, that I hope to be back one day.
Stunning property overlooking the Fjords with nice walks in close proximity to the Hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Will stay at again!

Extremely rude manager ruined the whole experience
Firstly we arrived at 18.30 to check in, we were hoping to eat in the restaurant but we're told it closed at 6. There is nothing in the local area, the nearest place for food was a 2 hour round trip away. The first lady at reception was really apologetic and tried to do her best but the chef was being difficult and the best we could get was a ham sandwich. When this arrived it was in fact half a sandwich. The next day when we checked out we had a slight issue and the manger was absolutely disgraceful. She was so rude and unhelpful, she even started shouting at us. I have never in my life been spoken to like that as a paying customer. Disgusting attitude and I would advise you avoid this place like the plague.
Quirky psuedo-log cabin, comfortable and good food
This is a "green-roofed" psuedo-log cabin (actually concrete with cladding), right on the fjord shore. Dinner and breakfast are both excellent and the bed was comfortable. The evening views were amazing!
The location and views are amazing! The hotel is beautiful and rustic, with clean, comfortable rooms. A very nice breakfast in a beautiful room or patio overlooking the water. I would definitely stay here again!
I can't even begin to describe how amazing the view was from here, the atmosphere was calm and very relaxing. The hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. The food at the hotel restaurant was terrific. My room was spacious, clean and had a wonderful view. I could've stayed there forever.
We chose the Brekkestranda Fjordhotel based on the pictures online. Once we got there it was even more magical that we had anticipated. We had a beautiful view of the fjord from our cabin-like room. Loved the stone flooring in the bathroom. The big fireplace gave the restaurant a rustic feel. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. All staff we encountered were friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend.
We were looking for a quiet nigth on our road trip along the west coast and found Brekkestranda to be a really nice surprise. Good food, nice room, all wood in all different angles, grass covered roofs. Not the traditional Norwegian log houses, but different. We really enjoyed our stay.

Spectacular views
On a tour of the Fjords and the Atlantic Highway so this was a nice stop having arrived at Bergen a couple of days earlier. The location is close to the ferry and in a wonderful isolated spot with glorious views of the fjord. There are two supermarkets about a mile away. The hotel prides itself on Salmon but we were a little dissapointed with ours.
Great little Hobbit hole, on the edge of the fjord
What a great location and chance to get away and see the fjords. Really loved this location and my room opening up on the back side to a porch with a perfect, unobstructed view of the river. Dining onsite was nice and easy, and the service and people were super nice. Very relaxing and just what I was looking for to get away for a day. My room was clean, I got a fresh pot of coffee right away, and the hotel was unique and like a log cabin. Would visit again anytime I am back in Norway.
We loved our stay here. It was slightly out of the way from the main highway to Bergen, but we thought it was nice to be in a quiet hotel right along the water. We enjoyed the sunset from our patio and we were thankful for the nice breakfast in the morning.
