"WiFi was very poor in our room. Signal very weak or nothing at all. Also TV in room was very small and could not watch any channels as again no signal. Channels frozen or just pixels, no radio through TV either so could not do anything in room. Room nice and clean, staff great, breakfast good too."

"Loved the hotel, restaurant and bar in-house was nice. It is definitely walking distance to everything. The castle is about 500 feet away and the Scarborough Seafront area is only a few blocks away. Best of all, it is only about half a mile from North Riding Brew Pub and their great beers."

"I'd read the previous reviews before booking here so this is an up-to-date review now for everyone! 1. Over a few days, I found out from random people that the area DID have a dodgy reputation so possibly the previous reviews are fair. But locals told me that the council have made a big effort to sort this out. I'm a middle-aged woman staying ON MY OWN and I saw zero of any concern. 2. "It needs a good refurbishment carpets worn and patched up in our room double bed was so uncomfortable could feel the springs single bed ok. Alright for the price but would definatly not stay again photo's of hotel on site must have been year's old think it needs updating the was nowhere to get anything to eat if you wanted to "

"Excellent attentive service from the owner Joe at all times nothing was too much trouble and a few minor issues were rectified immediately to our full satisfaction Would highly recommend The Meltham Guest House if you are looking to stay adjacent to the North Bay close to all the attactions that it has to offer Will definitely be staying again and myself and Jeff would personally like to wish Joe every success for the future Many thanks for a perfect stay between Christmas 2024 and New Year "

"10/10 - The Plough is an amazing pub/tavern and hotel! Room was plush, cozy and well appointed. Beds and pillows were comfy! Food was yummy, beer was good and people were incredible. Easy to park!"

Another great visit to the Crown Spa

"Always a pleasre to visit the Crown Spa Hotel. The staff a very friendly and helpful especially the more mature members of staff. Leisure facilities are very good with gym, pool, 2 saunas, a steam room etc. We didn't eat at the hotel on this occasion but have on previous visits and enjoyed the food. The only slight problem affecting our comfort was the temperature of the room which was very warm when we arrived but a combination of opening the windows and turning the radiator off worked in the main room. Unfortunately the towel rail in the bathroom would not turn off and it was so warm in there that the water had evaporated from the waste trap of the bath allowing the smell of drains through but this was quickly fixed by running a bath tap to refill the trap and stop the smell. The bed was very comfortable and the room was spotless."
