"On the hillside across the fjord from the airport and town, it was in the middle of having an extension when we were there (boy, Icelandic builders are hardy) so was a little out of sorts. That said, it is kept in immaculate order, and I’m sure the extension will be great. Currently it’s just 8 rooms, and won’t be so much bigger next year, but will have an internal lift so you don’t have to go outside to get to the lower rooms. However, coming here during the last week of November, we found the entry stairs to be completely covered over with ice (super dangerous), and I mean THICK ice. I was scared climbing them even with my great hiking boots. And the roads on the way in were snowy. "This was a cute little hotel. More like a guest house over a restaurant. The room was lovely and the bathroom decent and clean. There is a shared kitchenette and small lounge area on each floor for guests. The guesthouse is above a cute restaurant with delicious food, and in the main area of Akureyri, so it was very walkable to other restaurants and shops. Parking was easy across the street from the hotel as well and staff were friendly and efficient. "

"This property was excellent value and perfect for our stay, centrally located in Akureyri. The property has a well equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom and very comfortable beds. Communication with the host was excellent. Our only improvement would be curtains in the bedroom as the blinds don't keep out the outside light. "I had the double room. It is very basic, a bed, a small table with 2 chairs, 2 bedside tables, a bin, a mirror on the wall and some hooks for hanging clothes. The bed was very comfortable, you can adjust the heating to your liking so my room was always comfortably warm.
