Stayed for two nights at North Mountain View Suites, and it was easily the best stay we’ve had in our 14 day trip to Iceland! The rooms were beautifully furnished and extremely spacious, and there was plenty of space to park outside our cabin! We were here in November where temperatures were <0°C, so the heated floors were a very welcome feature. The kitchen was also very well equipped, complete with a cooking stove, oven, pots/pans, cutlery and a fridge freezer (be careful to air the room if you are cooking to prevent the smoke alarm from going off). There’s also a coffee maker, kettle, toaster. However, what we really sold us was the hospitable service! We had a little laundry situation, and even though they did not have any official laundry service, the staff working that day, Martin, offered to help us with it, and even settled it before the end of the night! Exceptional service, beautiful location, and a perfect place to watch the Northern Lights (accommodation is far enough from Akuyeri so light pollution is minimal).

We had an overall enjoyable stay at North Mountain Suites. The location is fantastic—an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area. Our room was very comfortable, and it was a nice touch that we got fresh towels every day. However, a few areas could use improvement. The hot tub was a bit of a letdown; it seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned thoroughly, leaving it slimy, which made us hesitant to use it for more than a few minutes. We also noticed that there was only one mirror available in the entire lodge, which made getting ready a bit challenging. The floor could have used a daily sweep, but there wasn’t a broom or cleaning supplies provided in the lodge, and housekeeping only swapped towels during our stay. With a little more attention to cleaning and amenities, this could easily be a top-notch place to stay!

Such a great new property with private hot tub and a good view for northern lights. The room is very new and clean with a kitchen as well. Everything is perfect except the bathroom. The shower area is the biggest downside. The drain doesn’t work well for both of our rooms. Water overflows out of the shower area into the living room/bedroom after a minute of showering, which makes it a huge problem. We had to use the shower towels to stop the water from going outside the bathroom. The drainage just doesn’t work. I don’t understand why Icelanders would build their bathing area in this stupid design, no door no drainage. The sink is small and useless so we basically only used the kitchen sink. Fix the bathroom please, it’s the only con. The host communicates very well and timely by the way.

Wow! Beautiful place and it seems like they've thought of everything for the guest experience. We honestly did not want to leave. Beautiful view. We were fortunate to see the northern lights right from the hot tub as well! They had all the kitchen items you'd need, plus a grill that you can use right next to your hot tub.

Favourite place we stayed in all of Iceland. Hot tub was amazing, kitchen and bathroom amazing. Balcony/porch has a gorgeous view of the mountains. Only thing that could be better was the beds (although nice) were insanely soft and actually hurt the body after a couple nights but still appreciated them

AMAZING! The private hot tub on the balcony is the best place to watch northern lights. The property is very clean- clearly brand new as they are still working on a few things. Great location, very easy to get to down town. Beds were very comfy. One small thing we ran into was only getting two towels for the shower. It would have been nice to have two additional towels for the hot tub, so we’d recommend asking for extras or bringing your own.

Gorgeous views. Very clean and functional unit. Hot tub on the back deck to watch the sunset is about as good as it gets. We loved the privacy and coziness of our cottage. Only complaint would be the flawed design of the bathroom sink faucet. And that isn’t even a complaint, more of a funny thing that whoever installed it didn’t quite think about how a long faucet with a super short sink don’t quite go together. Luckily there is a kitchen sink nearby you can wash your hands in.

Stunning property with mountain views and the town. Quite and relaxing. Hot tub is an excellent add on. We stayed in the comfort apartment with 2 bedrooms. Apartment is well-furnished with comfortable beds and sofa. Kitchen was well-stocked. Loved the comms around keys at check-in and check-out. Overall, I highly recommend this place for families of 3 or 4.

Arguably our favorite stay on Iceland. Views of Akureyri at night and mountains during the day. They have a fully equipped kitchen and a hot tub so you can cook dinner and enjoy a hot tub soak after. The room was clean and there was a large TV and check in instructions were easy. I would stay here again. The only thing is that the shower did not drain well and if they added a towel rack or more shelves, it would elevate the space as there was virtually no counter space in the bathroom. The drive into Akureyri for restaurants was a short 5-7 minute drive. Would recommend and would stay again.

The stellar reviews for this property are mostly right. A large modern suite with a private balcony and hot tub with BEAUTIFUL views out over Akureyi and the fjord at approximately the same price that bought me very tiny rooms in other parts of Iceland. So all that is wonderful. But there were a few weird things. My check in instructions didn't arrive until around 3 a.m. my first night -- and manual check-in was a bit rough, with no one (at first) in the lobby at the adjoining hotel and confusion when I used the helpline provided. WiFi was great -- after I was first given the wrong code. And the cabin, while quite attractive, also had some weird smells because it was so new that there was still some paint and chemical odors in places. Also, a few weird design elements, like a bathroom sink whose faucet extends to the end of the basin, meaning water goes everywhere when you use it. All that said, this is an amazing place to stay that marks incredible value for Iceland.
