"Please do not follow the location listed for this area. On Apple Maps look up “Villa Carlo resort” it shows “closed” not sure why but it’s the correct address . The one listed on the website takes you in the middle of no where please look it up yourself. When you arrive at gate call front desk they will open it for you. We went during ferregusto and they did not offer lunch ins but the breakfast is incredible and has everything you can think of and they can also cater in for you (room service)...

"The hotel has a great location, but bad management. The place is wrecked, everything is rusted and VERY old. The double beds are actually 2 single mattresses, so if you are a couple prepare to fall between the gap. There is no Wi-Fi in rooms or anywhere near them. You have to go to reception, and it's limited even at hours with no one around. Took me 15 mins each time to download emails. The staff are all really unfriendly/not helpful even if you speak Italian. You can't pay with cash but...

"There is no shade at the pool... no umbrellas to sit under. There is a few "sails" but they were small, unmoveable, and did not provide shade. The "continental" breakfast was limited to a coffee and croissant - it was seriously lacking... no other options available. The shuttle to pick us up at the port did not pick us up. The "ground floor" suite we booked was below-grade which meant going up/down stairs each time we had to enter the room. Finally, and most distressing, my passport wallet...

"A good overall stay. The staff were really nice - they went out of their way to accommodate you. The room was a bit small (even for a standard room) and had a window which overlooked some stores which were quite noisy in the morning. There was nowhere to hang a towel/swimwear to dry. Breakfast was very good and the restaurant was great. Being seafront, I had imagined that we would be able to swim there - unfortunately it’s a NO SWIMMING ZONE. The hotel is just a short walk from the centre...
