Join the crowds cheering for the local soccer team, attending a concert or tasting some of Florence’s favorite ice cream flavors.

Campo di Marte has many of Florence’s major sports centers, including the Artemio Franchi Stadium and the Nelson Mandela Forum. Throughout the year various events are held at the stadium’s open-air fields, including concerts and exhibitions. Just down the street from these venues, find bars, restaurants and cafés, including the famous Gelateria Badiani.

Visit Florence’s center of soccer action, the Artemio Franchi Stadium, and join the passionate local crowds. This is the home of ACF Fiorentina. If you are here in the right season, you can watch a fantastic match and enjoy the lively atmosphere. Sometimes rugby matches are also held in this venue. The stadium holds over 40,000 people. Find stadium viewpoints to glimpse the gorgeous Tuscan countryside.

The Nelson Mandela Forum, a sports complex located near the stadium, holds various sporting events including basketball and volleyball. It is also a well-known concert venue that hosts both Italian and international acts, with big names such as Bob Dylan and James Blunt. See what’s on during your stay and enjoy a night out. On a warm summer evening, purchase a glass of wine and watch a movie when the venue is transformed into an open-air cinema.

While you’re in the area, don’t miss Gelateria Badiani, a gelateria and pasticceria that has been running since 1932. Indulge in some delicious treats and sample their famous creamy Buontalenti gelato flavor. If you prefer something savory, you will also find plenty of restaurants, and of course, pizzerias and bars for a meal or drinks before or after a soccer match.

Walk to Campo di Marte in about 40 minutes from the city center. There is also a regular bus service as well as a train station. From the train station it will take 10 to15 minutes to reach all the attractions on foot.

Get involved with the energetic and buzzing crowds of Campo di Marte and you’ll be treated to an unforgettable travel experience.
