"Both the property and staff are wonderful. It has lots of old world charm but with the advantage that all the modern amenities (e.g. WIFI, plumbing etc) work perfectly. The fresh morning breakfast is outstanding, especially when compared to the usual stuff in US hotels. The location in the Chiado is wonderful. Endless dining and shopping options. Extremely close to metro options. Just a wonderful spot to base your Lisbon visit."

"Lovely hotel in the Chiado neighborhood. The hotel is an old palace so the rooms are the perfect mixture of historic charm with modern amenities. The hotel staff was super helpful and welcoming, they even booked our restaurant reservations each night! You also can’t beat the breakfast and the VIEW! "

Excellent staff, breakfast setup and service method, room furnishings, daily cleaning, kitchen appliances (instructions on how to use would be helpful), concierge is very helpful, wc facilities are very clean and well located. "We were bummed we only got to stay one night here as our flight was the next day but the property and room were great. Room was large and came with a little kitchen area with a fridge and laundry machine which is great if you packed light and needed to wash your clothes. It was right on pink street and we got to tour the local area that night and next morning. If you don’t mind the noise and hustle at night it’s a great place, they provided ear plugs. "

"Casa Balthazar is a delightful oasis amidst Lisbon's hubbub. Well located for getting here and there around the city and beyond, whether by foot, tram, or train, it's a lovely place to stay, with helpful staff, good breakfasts, and well-appointed rooms (several with nice views). It's not opulently luxurious, but it has an easy graciousness. I recently revisited the hotel and have recommended it to more than one friend traveling to Lisbon - all of us are fans. "

"This property is a fun boutique style hotel with a lot of character. It was selected because the room had a balcony with a city view. It did not disappoint. The breakfast buffet and menu were really tasty. The employees could not have been nicer to us. We really enjoyed our stay. I would recommend this hotel to everyone who likes a smaller hotel with a lot of charm. "

"The room was clean, well appointed, beds comfortable, and bathroom was great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Location was fantastic - close to everything and walkable. Felt quite safe. I would definitely stay again. 25 mins taxi from airport. During the day the taxi could not drive up to hotel because hotel is in a walking zone, but after hours they could."
