"The accessibility, location, house, restaurant and vegetable/fruit garden were excellent, and the internal and external staff were outstandingly pleasant, cheerful, polite and attentive. Our room, upgraded for us without our so asking, was roomy and well-appointed, but rather dark and sombre, so it made the many inside steps rather difficult to see, slightly dangerous for anyone without perfect vision. Overall, very much enjoyed."

"Fabulous house bang in the middle of Axminster. Lived in Axminster for 6 years and knew where this was but not realised the size of the house. Back for the weekend to see friends, etc. This is an exquisite properly. Amazing room and cosy guest lounge so you don’t have to sit on the bed in the room. Great breakfast. Will definitely return "

"Lovely staff. Clean room. Good food. Great location. Breakfast was fab. Fish and chips in Dukes next door (part of the hotel chain)was amazing. But the bedroom was so hot. No radiator or towel rail were on but the room was like a sauna. Slept on top of bed with window wide open but very hot all night!"

"A very quaint Hotel with quirky features. Noisy floor boards so you could hear people moving around. Food was good but little more expensive than normal Green King prices. Recently stayed in a Wetherspoons Hotel as well, who provided a lot more tea/coffee/hot chocolate etc in the room. Would be an idea to increase at the Anchor. Great location with some on site parking but we couldn't use it so park on the road. Would recommend."

"I absolutely loved my stay at the Nethleigh. I stayed in the room called The Snug, and it admirably lived up to the name. It was comfortable and very cozy. There was a small fireplace in the room with wood provided for a crackling fire, though I didn't make one. The owner had provided fresh milk in the fridge for my hot drinks, as well as a variety of teas and coffees. "Great location and car parking was available (and free). Lovely friendly staff who made our stay as comfortable as they could. The rooms are extremely clean with everything you need including tea, coffee and biscuits in the room. Great breakfast choices and freshly cooked!! The only thing I would criticise is the size of the bed and comfort. They could probably do with being upgraded. "

"Always have an amazing stay at Southern Cross Guest House. You’re always made to feel very welcome and the rooms are so comfortable and there’s everything you need. Breakfast is absolutely delicious too. Such is in a great location for Sidmouth and its idyllic boutique shops and the wonderful donkey sanctuary too. "
