"The location of the hotel is good. The stairs down the the rooms is built for somebody with long legs and the ramp - not sure if that is for a wheel chair which I will never use. The restaurant is very over priced and its really not great food. The food at Mrs Simpson is WAY better. The fire place, having a vent right on top, the room was always smelling of smoke. Rooms do all need a little TLC. Staff is very friendly and helpful."

"OK ish to stay with dogs. However the road to get to the property is terrible terrible terrible. We slipped off the Provincial sand road due to mud. However the real challenge is to get to the farm house. Not fun at all especially when wet. We won't visit again because of challenges to get to the property. Real pity. "

"We've booked a room that was supposed to fit 4 person (that was how it was marked on hotels.com). When we arrived we learned that the room is actually a 2 person room and we had to pay for another room (we bargained for a half price for a second one). The "original" room was nice and clean (although not very new) but the second one had some mold in it and was in need for a renovation. Other than that the staff was nice and we had a good sleep for a one night."

"The physicality is breath taking! It is close enough to Johannesburg that a quick weekend getaway is doable without driving for untold hours before you reach your destination. The approach roadway is bad! So no small cars as you need height or off-road ability, large cars are wide and are damaged by encroaching vegetation...
