"A really lovely little place to stay. The room was spacious and the bed super comfortable. Having kitchen facilities to use is a bonus although we didn’t use them. The shower wasn’t great (rain head only) and I really struggled to work it. It would also be great to have a mirror in the bedroom area for getting ready as the only mirror was in the bathroom. "

"OMG what a gem! I almost don’t want to share an opinion on the Villa Rothsay because I want to keep it for myself. Absolutely perfect in every way. But quirky and mysterious with amazing history. Our room was beautiful with seaview. We slept with the curtains open so as not to miss any waking moment. Margaret was welcoming and so knowledgeable. Breakfast was delicious. Local produce - no UPFs here - Villa Rothsay preserves. Just beautiful. We were fortunate to have been there for the first day...

"Fabulous. Best hotel ever. Exceptional service right from the start. Superb professional and impressive receptionist lady Shalom, who went out of her way to provide help in the most gracious keen to help ways. A fabulous full breakfast was brought to my room. Great ensuite with large bath + shower. Very warm. Lovely bedding and towels. Moments from the beaches with level walks. Quite exceptional. I will most definitely be back. Soon hopefully."

"We had a fantastic stay at the Woodvale. The food was excellent and despite it being a very busy time (just a few days before Christmas so lots of big parties) we didn't wait too long for our meals. "Overall we had an excellent stay, fantastic location centra to outlet, dock yards, restaurants, Spinnaker tower and the ferry to IOW. On the first night we when we got to the room we noticed some dry paint shavings that had fallen from the ceiling to the floor, staff were happy to love us to another room and apologised. Wayne in particular was extremely helpful and friendly as were the other front of house and manager. Car parking was in gunwharf quays. For breakfast you’re allowed to take away food in brown bags or while paper boxes which was helpful. The rooms are standard with a clean kettle and bed but we loved our stay. Would recommend. "

"This lovely quaint Guest House was ideal for us on New Year's Eve as we were invited to a Masquerade Ball held at The Queens Hotel which was only a 6 minute walk away from the Guest House. We were initially thinking of going by taxi but trying to get a taxi on New Year's Eve is a nightmare and there's no guarantee anyway that they would actually turn up. Also, the taxi was working out about the same price as a one night stay here! Hence, it was a no-brainer. The property has excellent free parking around the back. The bed was nice and comfortable, the shower was powerful and the room was spacious, warm and quiet. The host (Heather) is a really charming lady and it was lovely chatting to her over breakfast. We had fresh fruit and yoghurt, tea and toast (lots of choices for jams, honey, marmalades etc). Heather then brought in some yummy freshly cooked croissants which were a real treat with a nice coffee. This was the perfect stay for us and meant that we could enjoy New Year's Eve without the stress of how we were going to get home. We would have no hesitation in booking this venue again for future stays. Thank you so much Heather! 😊"
