It is a walk from the main town centre, and the hill is steep, so need to be mobile, or happy to use taxis. But the walk is worth it as the location is peaceful. Reception area and stairs are all stone/marble so noise does travel - especially to ground floor rooms. And walls are thin too, so occasional interrupted sleep. Nothing too dramatic though. "Nice hotel, really helpful reception staff. Bar staff a little under staffed. Bedrooms and facilities generally are great. Air con in the room is clearly restricted to around 20-21°C which was a little to warm, despite the controls reading 16."

"This hotel is a little gem, steeped in history and very central. The internal lounge area with it's palms and exotic plants is wonderful. I would recommend this hotel so long as you are not looking for luxury. There are lovely views from many rooms and the pool is good. Shame they don't offer tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. Fixtures and fittings are sadly just looking a bit tired."
