"We had a lovely room overlooking the river. Breakfast was a tasty feast to set you up for the day with friendly and helpful owners looking after us. The first thing that struck us both on arrival (towards end of November) were the Christmas decorations which were amazing. "

"Really enjoyed our two-night stay in one of the turret suites. The hotel was still beautifully decorated for Christmas but very peaceful being a few days after Hogmanay. Overall condition of the building is excellent, especially given its age and historic nature, which must make it a real challenge to maintain. "Hotel, grounds and location were very good. Unfortunately the spa facilities were a let down. Pool are was cold and unsuitble for relaxing. Steam room was cool and sauna had draft coming in. Other residents hogging the hot tub and not vacating it during cleaning cycle."
