She runs a relaxing and casual property, and because of its small size, it is easy for her to communicate with and assist visitors - which is exactly what she does! I highly recommend this hotel to Oshima tourists who are looking for a quiet, soothing place to unwind and enjoy their stay. All staff members are friendly and will help you as soon as you need something."

"Simple living arrangement during Niijima visit. The guesthouse is centrally located, close to bike rental shops cafes, supermarkets and bars / restaurants. The host is very kind and helpful when our ferry out was cancelled due to strong winds. We extended our stay by one night. The guesthouse itself is very basic - small bedroom with thin futon beds and shared kitchen, washroom and shower. I couldn't get hot water but we mainly used the public Onsen anyway. The laundry facilities came in handy...

"Hale Kai is a well designed guest house with the combination of Traditional Japanese style and Hawaiian style! It was really comfortable and relaxed during our stay. The owner are hospitalized and extremely friendly. Everything we need were prepared in the guest house. Moreover, the location is perfect because it is only a 5 mins walk from the Motomachi port and most of the souvenir shops, restaurants,and hot spring places can be access within 10 mins walk!! Highly recommended!!"
