"I've stayed at Pelican twice. There's always an issue with the "free" continental breakfast. Last time, they charged separately for coffee, although it was brought to us by the server. This time, the breakfast was limited to three items (egg, toast, fruit...) but this wasn't explained up front and we unknowingly ordered several items. I love the property, but the confusion over "free" breakfast that is not free is annoying."

"The setting was beautiful. Our unit was spotlessly clean and had beautiful views. The employees were all very friendly and we had all of our needs met. My only complaint had nothing to do with the resort. The beaches are not clean. It was heartbreaking for me to walk each morning and see the amount of trash mostly plastic on all of the surrounding beaches. Maybe the resort could offer some type of incentive. "This place...arrived in room and it was over 100° in the room. I asked the check in clerk if they had a fan and he stated "we don't provide them". I went to a local store to buy a fan, only to be told that it was not "allowed" in the room (apparently the owner watchesnthe camera from his home in Texas and called the on-site manager).
