"Incredible experience. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay a beautiful experience. Room was amazing and there were plenty of vegan dining options within a block of walking. Also, the premises had a cafe that had plenty of vegan milk and vegan food options. They had an amazing spa service who went above and beyond to provide service after regular hours even."

"The owner was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were perfect :) had everything you needed. There was also a closeline out the back door for drying clothes that was really handy (And hammock hooks in the room which was cool). The yard is beautiful and has tons of greenery, birds and gheckos. Frida Kahlo the cat that lives there is very friendly and cute. :) The door also had multiple lock options and felt very safe, and the property was only a 10 minute walk from the city center. "

"Very friendly staff who gave us a lot of good recommendations on restaurants and things to do around the area. Also dealt with issues promptly. Feels very safe to walk around. There are chickens that make noise during the day or night but once you get used to it it's not that bad."

"A good find, in a great location and lovely staff. Despite concerns from other reviews about cleanliness, we did not find it dirty at all. Our main issue was the noise. Bring earplugs and you should be fine but be ready for barking dogs inside and outside of the hotel."

"The employees were very attentive and didn’t laugh at me when I found a baby scorpion in my room in the middle of the night - they promptly changed me to another room. The in suite jacuzzi was a nice touch and a wonderful way to relax. Would definitely recommend if you’re in this city! It’s within walking distance from delicious restaurants, the centre and an easy drive to Chichen Itza"

"This is a nice boutique hotel....simply furnished and clean with friendly, helpful employees. The pool is lovely and there are a few nice loungers and sunbeds surrounding it. What we most loved is the location... a half block from Candelaria Park and all the community activity there, and a 5- or 10-minute walk from the central plaza, shopping and restaurants. "

"We had an excellent experience with this hotel: charming, well-situated near the central plaza, staffed with very kind and helpful people; attractive and nicely-furnished rooms. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief time here and wish we had longer to visit Valladolid… if that were the case we would have definitely continued our stay here. Family friendly and economical, but still rich in history and class."

Authentic family owned & we loved it!

"The Casa San Juan was a great stay, especially for the price! We like to support locals when we travel & this family owned hotel & restaurant was just that! Very helpful with check-in, housekeeping & service at the restaurant! The room was spacious for 3 adults, the beds were a bit hard, but we slept well. The area was quiet, but we don’t mind waking up to the sound of chickens and turkeys. It is in a neighborhood, not in the city center. We took a 5 minute taxi ride from the bus station to the hotel.($40MX) Front desk was extremely helpful in booking us a private tour to 2 ruins & 2 cenotes! It was a perfect day! The restaurant was so convenient and delicious, we didn’t need to eat anywhere else! Breakfast buffet was delicious! If we return to Valladolid we would not hesitate to stay here again! If you like authentic & local, this your place! "
