"Excellent location near the river. 5min drive from York designer outlet 10 min drive in to the centre of York Was a little worried being next to a very busy pub. We got back about 2130 hrs and it had already closed So very peaceful. Left us milk,bread,butter,eggs & tea coffee sugar, excellent stay throughly enjoyed will be a returning customer"

"We had a lovely stay at Lockton Cottage, it was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The welcome goodies were a great touch, and we really appreciated the tea, milk etc..after our long journey. We would definitely stay again."

"Beautiful quiet location looking out over fields and backed by woods with lots of lovely walks for the dogs. Great base camp for whitby and Scarborough. Cute, peaceful cabins with everything you need. Loved our stay with our dogs"

"Bramwood cottages are beautiful and located in a fantastic central location, close to everything in the town which we loved. We did book the Tack Room cottage, but on arrival we had been moved to the Coach House without any explanation resulting in us trying to access the Tack Room with the entry code we were given when someone else was staying there, which was quite embarrassing. The cottage itself was beautiful, and had everything you could possibly need, but we found comfort to be lacking....

"We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was well equipped with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. I do think the property does need updating a little and it would have been nice if the hot tub had been filled on arrival, the hot tub also needs a cover as unless you like cold feb rain wouldn’t have been enjoyable. "Lovely set of cottages in the N Yorks countryside. Really rural location and we had great weather to enjoy the area and the villages. My only small gripe was when the broadband went down . When I tried to contact the owner as per instructions, we couldn’t by WhatsApp or phone due to no phone signal in the area. The instructions said to knock on the farmhouse but it appears that the owners don’t live on site. We survived without it but the instructions need updating "

"Booked a week in December and our adult daughter joined us. The cottage was well equiped for us, very cosy & warm, comfortable beds, curtains & blinds at the bedroom windows. Large TV & DVD player. Powerful shower over the bath. There is a patio with furniture, if the weather is kind. A long drive leads to private parking. It is quite isolated, but peaceful and tranquil with lovely views. In the lounge are 2 x 2 seater settees, which would be quite 'snug' if there were 4 adults."

"Excellent base to visit York. A pleasant 30 minute walk along the river into York. Property was very clean and warm. Owner very attentive. Kindly left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which we were grateful for. "

"Overall the property was nice Although It really needs some attention The toilet seat does slip, there always feels to be holes in the floor boards the bathroom and stairs There’s a weird lip walking into the dining room/kitchen which we nearly tripped over a good few times The fridge was very bipolar where it either didn’t keep things cool or froze them Also the temperature gauge for the heating kept falling off exposing live cables which could have electrocuted if touched as it was...

"Good location but property not as described. Hot water runs for 10 seconds; can’t take a bath. Windows permanently condensated and mouldy - curtains also with mould. Carpet dirty - needs replacing!"

"The first time we have stayed here, the cottage was so lovely, warm homely and clean. We only had to walk around the corner to The Blue Bell Inn and had a wonderful meal. The village is a hidden gem, we chatted to some of the people in the village and they were so friendly. They had a Street Fayre today, which is what they do every year on the second Sunday of June, unfortunately we had commitments, we had to leave early, however we do plan to book the cottage for next year and stay longer. "Communication was lacking on this booking. I didn’t receive an email beforehand with details of how to obtain key to the property, after reaching out i did get it just in time for our arrival. The cottage was plenty big enough for 4 of us but we found that the cleanliness was not up to our standards. Plenty of dust on all skirting boards behind beds etc, the sofas were really uncomfortable & sagging & there was not enough hot water for us all to have a shower in the mornings, let alone a...

"We really enjoyed our stay, so peaceful and calming, the trees blowing in the wind around us was a calming lovely sound. Our only issue was the kettle leaking every time you poured a drink and the fitted sheet was not big enough for the bed as soon as got on the bed it came off the mattress when trying to put back on you could get one side down but it pulled it away from other end so bigger fitted sheet and definitely deeper fit other than this it was amazing and just what we needed "
