"What can we say this place took our breathe away! Such a beautiful setting with the accommodation set right amongst the natural surroundings of how these animals should be seen. The staff again like at Tsala in Plettenberg were amazing and can’t do enough to help you during your stay and after too. The guides are extremely knowledgable and welcome all questions and make you feel very comfortable and at ease during the game drives. "Simply outstanding hotel near Addo Elephant Park. Special mention for Edwin on front of house who accomodated our dietary needs perfectly. The food was simply spectacular at both breakfast and dinner and the setting overlooking a pond with weaver birds is very special. The photos dont do justice to the welcome you receive as the futnishings are a little old school, but the room size and facilities are very good. Trips to Addo on their landcruiser were easy and trouble free. "

"Hopewell is potentially a stupendous destination. Accommodation was excellent and luxurious. I feel they tried too hard to provide very fancy food that did not quite come off and this could be improved. They do not have the Big 5 but there is plenty of game to see and the Ranger is excellent. This is a fantastic location for a honeymoon or just a peaceful getaway in the Eastern Cape Bush."

"Great management couldn’t be more helpful. The staff are outstanding and very helpful, provide great recommendations. Lovely stay in a beautiful place, watching the birds at the bottom of the garden in the morning was so mindful and relaxing. Added bonus was they do laundry for you and return it immaculate. "We had a fantastic 3 days at Addo River-View Lodge. Our hostess, Leanne, was fabulous and very helpful and informative. The proximity of the location to Addo Elephant Park was ideal and we booked a guided full day tour there. We also enjoyed a sunset boat trip on the Sundays River and climbed the sand dunes. The local restaurant, Taste of Africa, was excellent and less than a 3 minute walk. Highly recommended."

"The actual hotel is really very good and the rooms are outstanding. Nice grounds, nice pool and the food was also of a decent quality.
