No matter where you're coming from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you prepare well enough. We've made a list of handy hints that will get your Biras escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, pack your passport, official ID, cash and daily medications. Next, you'll want some extra in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A thrilling novel and a laptop crammed with your favourite movies are some fantastic options. If you hope to catch a few z's, a comfy neck pillow and some noise-cancelling headphones will also come in handy. Finally, make room for a toothbrush and some facial wipes to ensure you arrive feeling fresh and raring to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Make sure you don't have a sharp object hiding in your hand luggage. Other prohibited items include flammable or explosive substances, such as fuel and matches, and liquids and gels in containers with a volume of more than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters).
What to wear on a flight:
- The aisles of an airplane are not the place for a fashion parade. Don comfortable layers and bring a sweater as it can get chilly in the cabin. Flat, slightly roomy shoes are also a good idea.
- Unfortunately, a risk of flying long distances is developing DVT (deep vein thrombosis), a blood clotting condition caused by lengthy periods of inactivity. To prevent this from happening, take every opportunity to walk around and give your legs a stretch. Compression socks and tights are also a great idea to help lower your risk.
