Wherever you’re jetting in from, flying can be a pleasant experience if you’ve prepared well enough. Follow these handy travel tips that will get your Begard escape started on the right foot. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- It’s simple — first, put in your passport, travel docs, cash and vital medications. Next, you’ll need some entertainment to help pass the time. A juicy book and a phone crammed with your favourite movies are some wonderful options. If you plan to catch up on some sleep, a neck pillow and some earplugs will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a toothbrush and some facial wipes so you’ll arrive feeling fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Put all your full-sized bottles of shampoo and conditioner in your checked luggage. Any gels or liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated. Pointed or sharp objects, like a pocket knife, and products which are explosive or flammable, such as flares, bleaching agents and gasoline, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- The answer to a comfortable flight can be as simple as the clothes you wear. Prepare for changes in temperature by layering up. This will keep you nice and warm if the cabin gets too cold. Shoes like stilettos, flip flops and lace-up boots are best left in your suitcase. Even though they may be your favourites, go for flat, closed-toed footwear like sneakers. Your feet will thank you later.
- A condition called deep vein thrombosis (DVT) is a risk on long-haul flights. It’s the result of blood clotting due to inactivity and poor circulation. Doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat is a great way to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good-quality pair of compression socks can also help.
