"We really enjoyed our stay here! The owner was so welcoming, our room was large and comfortable, the breakfast was served in a nice room and the restaurant experience was superb - we had a delicious dinner outside on the terrace. "The apartment complex is built with an ancient convent, which is very cool when you first enter. The hallways are clean and quiet, and our room really was spotless, as well as quite large. Even though our room was tight over a busy street, there was virtually no noise coming from the outside. The kitchen was very useful and we enjoyed some time sitting on the deck in the rear of the property. If you want to walk to the shops and restaurants, you will be walking straight up a very steep hill. The old part of city is at the top of a steep hill. We drove and eventually found parking. Good for the price. Staff were very nice!"

"Lovely, quirky hotel right in the middle of the city so very convenient for everything. The receptionists were excellent, so bright and helpful. Particularly helped with the parking as it’s quite tricky when the small car park is busy. The rooms were interesting - each seems to have an individual theme with different colours and attractive vintage furniture. Very comfortable with lovely linen bedding. One small thing is that whilst they have tea and coffee in the room you have to get milk from reception which is a minor but unnecessary inconvenience. The rooms were spotless, as were the interestingly decorated communal areas. The only disappointment was the breakfast which was very standard and not so well maintained if you don’t get there first thing. Oddly, they serve your coffee in a jug with no top which means it goes cold very quickly which is very frustrating. "

Poor first impressions matter

"Online booking. Confirmation information did not extend to necessary check in details but our arrival time was within the parameters of supposed manned reception. On arrival access was problematic and achieved only with the help of another visitor. Eventually one (extremely surly) staff member with poor attitude opened the door and dismissively pointed to envelopes containing the room keys before disappearing in a cloud of disinterest without providing the front door key code which the other guest had been provided with. The experience was unwelcoming and disconcerting and gave a poor impression of what by the following morning had been an ok experience."
