"Beautiful and convenient property - should have coffee makers in the room, first hotel we have stayed in that I can remember that has not had coffee - they do have a nice but expensive coffee shop downstairs close to the elevators, but not the same as enjoying that first cup in your room without having to get dressed and leave your room"

"For our first visit on Catalina Island, this property was perfectly located in the center of town on the waterfront. We had a room with a waterfront view that was perfect to wake up to every morning. It was a relatively short and enjoyable walk from the boat landing to the hotel. You can't beat the weather on the island. We were there in November and needed a break from the rain in Portland, Or. We would definitely look at this property again for our next visit. "

"The distance from most of the restaurants in Avalon resulted in the ideal balance between walkability and peacefulness. Staff was great. Room was not modern and was nothing fancy, but that doesn't matter to me and the hotel/room had everything I needed. Pro tip: T-Mobile gets virtually no service on the island; make sure to take advantage of the remarkably speedy and reliable hotel wifi and preload your maps."

"I book with Avalon Hotel to celebrate my fiancé s 60th birthday. The began communication with me right after booking. We arrived early and room was ready. They provided a nice bottle of sparkling champagne and a personalized card for my fiancé. Hotel and accommodation were perfect, clean and cozy. Breakfast was light and refreshing. Hotel was quiet and you could not hear guests and staff coming and going. We will definitely book with Avalon Hotel every time we go to the island. "
