"The best hotel ive stayed in so far on my trip to vietnam. Trung the receptionist was so helpful, I wish all were as good as him. He goes the extra mile and genuine service. The hotel was spotless and my room spacious with a great view of the bay, especially sunrise in the morning rising above one of the islet peaks. I would definitely recommend this hotel for someone who prefers a quieter location away from the main town and very close to the cruise boat harbour. 5 stars from me"

"I did the 1 night cruise and the whole experience was excellent. The administration (Anna) was very friendly and efficient and the logistics for the shuttle were clear. Once on board, the staff were very kind and attentive, the cabin was comfortable and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the excursions, particularly the caves and hiking. Would recommend to others. 5/5 "

"First of all the staff and breakfast were amazing. The hiking trip organised by the hotel was awesome. The location is really good. The downsides there were lots of bugs in my room. I killed them all and i thought that was the end of it then on the last day upon checking out there was a huge cockroach on the floor, i presume their mother. The water pressure for the hot water didnt seem to exist at times and you had to run it for a while to make it work. "

"We did the 3 day 2 night cruise and the extra day allows for a better experience of Ha Long bay with the activities provided by Peony. The staff on the cruise are very welcoming and provide a professional service, Candy who was our waitress for all our meals was exceptional. A special mention also to Elvis who organised most events and provided some local history information during the activities. We are happy we went with Peony Cruises "

"I checked out September 25th so this is a review of the hotel as Cat Ba recovers from the typhoon. The hotel was clean and staff were friendly. The sky at and pool were damaged in the typhoon and were being repaired. Overall a good place to stay. "

"if your going to see halong bay, a cruise is a must...otherwise the town itself is really boring.. about this cruise: the pros: attentive staff, plenty of activities organized, comfortable and clean... the cons: food looks better than it tastes, no wifi, rooms can be noisy...its a wooden boat so your hear when ur neighbor upstairs is walking around..."

"Hai and Chilly were fabulous hosts, communicative and always happy to assist in any way. As it was winter we opted to stay in the village. The family sized room with 2 king beds and bathroom plus your own seating and hammock out the front situated in lovely gardens was a great place to recover after doing the Ha Giang Loop. Basic breakfast is included, lunch and dinner are available with dinners being shared dishes with other guests which gives the opportunity to meet others. You can hire bikes next door for 30000 D and the team can organise day trips and transport. We did the afternoon kayaking with bbq on a floating village followed by night kayaking to spot the phosphorescence and really enjoyed it. Depending on where you are coming from it is a little tricky to get there- bus, ferry, shuttle bus, speed boat and golf buggy but they can assist you with these arrangements as they did with us . If you just want somewhere to unwind for a day or 2 or use as a base for day trips the accommodation is a really great cheap option. Thanks for making us feel so welcome!"
