"We had an unforgettable 60th birthday celebration at the JW. It was the most beautiful beach I have ever experienced. The service was spectacular, again and again and again. Every interaction was a reflection of awesome training and people who cared about their job. Their friendliness added to our overall experience. We would love to go back every year- what a spectacular time. We are so thankful we were able to do this and lucky to have found this resort. "

"Incredible resort with the most breathtaking pool, however…don’t expect to check in on time. You won’t get your room for a couple hours after their already late check-in time (we and many others were stuck in the lobby til 6), and yet you have to check out at 10AM. Furthermore, when they check you in, they pass you off to a “special concierge”…you feel special, right? Wrong. They’re just there to pepper you with up-sales, hectoring you to do this weird cult meeting with their sales people. It’s...

"We discovered this gem about 2 years ago and we continue to return (every time I have booked another resort, I have ended up cancelling and we go back to JOIA/Grand Paraiso, it’s a “sure thing”!) What makes us such big fans? -spectacular, over the top facilities and decor (beyond impressive lobby, marble everywhere, gorgeous finishings and fixtures, flowers, lush grounds…) -All restaurants are air conditioned, with a very high end atmosphere -exceptional food -top shelf liquor/masterfully...

"Pleasant property with huge well appointed rooms and fabulous bathrooms! Easy walk into town to try different restaurants and cafés and shop (we did not choose the all inclusive option). A long, walkable beach. The secret of this place if you like activities is Gustavo, a one-man band who teaches yoga, pilates, art classes making bracelets, wall-hanging and painted frames, leads bike trips...and more! His friendliness and energy really transformed our stay."

"It was a beautiful resort, a little large, but transportation with the use of shuttles was good. Only issue was some things were a bit expensive, $6.00 CAD for a can of pop for example is a bit much imo. "
