We've stayed at the Riu Las Americas & Riu Cancun before and this one was by far my favorite. A mixture of fun activities but also some R&R. Of course, always friendly staff and constantly cleaning. Walking distance to the shopping mall. The buffet was AMAZING in comparison to the sister resorts. We chose to eat at the buffet more than the restaurants because the steak house was just ok. But my BIL said the Italian restaurant was really good.

I booked this trip for my fiancè and I to celebrate our engagement and from the beginning it was a nightmare. My package was supposed to be for 2 people (flight and resort) but my room was only booked for 1 person! When I get there the “customer service” charged me $800 to add my fiancè to my room. While trying to enjoy my stay I was given attitude from several employees who hate their job. The restaurants are TERRIBLE! To top it off when I was checking out they charged me an additional $200 fee because my fiancè had to much to drink at their unlimited drinks party and threw up. I have never had such a bad experience with any resort or hotel! DO NOT STAY HERE there are way better properties you can choose from! TRUST ME

This is our second time staying at this property. The first time we went in January. This time we went with a few more people in December and upon booking we asked for our rooms to be together. When we got there to check in the other couples had went, checked in and gotten done well. The lady that we had had messed around kept going over by the other people kept going in the back, just kept messing around and about six other couples had checked in between the time that we had got to the desk to check in to the time that she actually assigned our room and you could hear the other couples getting the same rooms that we had ordered and then she said well the only way I can give you a room that’s by the other people that you came with is if you take one with a double bed because now there’s no rooms available we paid extra to have an ocean view and we were on the second floor and you could barely see above the palm trees, so we had no view of the ocean.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 4 days. We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Good customer service, housekeeping cleanliness, and food were excellent. I recommend this place and want to go back again.

Our second visit this year! Wonderful property, great rooms with bathtubs, never ending hot water, get the pillow top put on your bed, nice pillows, wonderful beach area, Rossini's Italian restaurant has the best antipasto bar, great servers, shuttle to the Riu caribe for their Theme night parties, late check outs available as well. You won't regret a visit to this hotel.

The resort was nice and the rooms were clean. Jade was great; she helped me surprise my in-laws who were celebrating 49 years of marriage and our dear friends celebrating 45 years of marriage. However, the receptionist who checked me in was not welcoming and didn’t explain anything about the resort besides giving me the room keys. The drinks were noticeably low in alcohol. We dined at two restaurants: the morning buffet and the steakhouse. The steakhouse lacked flavor, and the meat was tough to chew. The Asian restaurant had limited options, and we discovered that the buffet at night offered Asian food as well. The buffet had more flavor and shorter wait times. The Spanish night at the buffet was good in flavor, though some items, like the enchiladas de mole, had cold tortillas and filling. Overall, the restaurants could improve in flavor. The entertainment was okay, but not great. The beach was lovely. It was windy most of our days, but we still enjoyed the beach and the waves. Overall, it's a good place to relax and great for the beach. However, the food and entertainment could be better.

The resort was amazing! It was beautiful and the staff were very attentive. I got the elite club and the restaurant alone was enough to make me want to come back. I will say the only thing that threw me off was the resort credits. They were used more so as a discount which was strange to me. You couldn’t actually buy anything with just the credits but other than that the room, pool, dining options, and activities were a plus! I would recommend and actually stay here again.
